Labyrinth Crusade – Become a POET!!
The labyrinth will be the centerpiece of a larger “healing garden” dedicated to our loved ones. It will have beautiful landscaping and benches for rest and contemplation here on the grounds of St. James. The final location is still under consideration.
We are planning on purchasing our labyrinth from the Labyrinth Co., of Baltimore, see http://www.labyrinthcompany.com/.
The “Chelsea a la Chartres” pattern has been chosen for its simplicity and traditional pattern.
Together we can make this happen! Make your contribution payable to St. James, with Eileen House Memorial Fund in the memo line. And thanks!

Information and Prayer For Our New Diocesan Bishop
The Very Rev. Peter Eaton
The Rev. Jane Soyster Gould
The Rev. Dr. John C. N. Hall
The Rev. Canon Eugene Taylor Sutton
In an effort to allow people throughout the Diocese to meet the Diocesan Bishop nominees, four sites have been selected for meet-and-greet sessions commonly known as Walk-Abouts. The specifics have yet to be finalized; however, the anticipated format is small-group question-and-answer sessions. The amount of time with each nominee is estimated at 20 minutes. The tentative dates are as follows:
March 4 6:30 – 9 p.m., All Saints’ Parish, Frederick
March 5 6:30 – 9 p.m., Emmanuel Church, Cumberland
March 7 6:30 – 9 p.m., Our parish hall
March 8 10:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. and 3 - 5:30 p.m., Trinity, Towson
In addition, there is a web site at http://www.ang-md.org/bishopsearch.php for more information.
Please pray this prayer for our new Diocesan Bishop:
"Almighty God, whose gentle hands shaped the shores of the Chesapeake and molded the hills of the Alleghenies: guide and direct your people as we seek a chief pastor for the Diocese of Maryland. Give us clear eyes and wise minds to see beyond our desires so that we might choose a bishop who loves and serves you. Support those who hear your call to discernment and surround their families with your care. Lead us by your grace to a greater understanding of your mission and ministry so that together we might grow more and more into Christ-likeness; through Him who died and rose for us and who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, for ever and ever. Amen."

Highlights of The Women of St. James’ Parish Meeting – Jan. 20, 2008
¨ Exploring purchasing mats for kitchen floor to help those who have to stand for long periods for the dinners.
¨ Exploring purchase of additional refrigerator to help with dinners since food is supposed to be prepared in kitchen only.
¨ Exploring fundraisers.
**Where…, Why …, Who…, How…?
Where does this go? Why is this in here?
The Women of St. James’ Parish (+2 able-bodied men!) recently completed a thorough inventory of the kitchen. We also discovered many items that were not put away in the cabinets where they belonged. Please help us by using the kitchen responsibly and putting all dishes, bowls, pans, and utensils back into the designated cabinets and drawers.
Who does this belong to? How long has it been in here?
Several dishes and a cake stand have been left on the counters in the kitchen. If these belong to you, please retrieve them by February 3rd. After that, they will be donated to SCAN or Goodwill.
It was also noted that food is being left in the refrigerators and freezer. If your group is leaving food in the refrigerators or freezer, please be sure all items are marked as belonging to your group. The refrigerators and freezer will be checked weekly. Any food items that are not identified, with the exception of condiments, will be discarded. Thank you,
Women of St. James’ Parish

Our Vision Statement: Who We Strive To Be
St. James' will build a lasting Christian community, grounded in faith and bound by love and the teaching of Christ. We will be a leader and innovator through our success in:
-- Enhancing the spiritual lives of our parishioners through our ministries;
-- Creating a loving and supportive community of Christian fellowship among parishioners; and
-- Positively impacting the welfare of the whole community through outreach, promoting faith through action.
Our Mission Statement: Who We Are
Our View on Stewardship
We the Vestry, Officers, Clergy, and Lay Leadership of St. James' Parish recognize that everything we have and all that we are is a gift from God -- a gift that we are to use in ways that further God's purpose.
Stewardship is a thankful response to God's graciousness to us and an opportunity to praise God with our lives in thanksgiving. Stewardship is our faith in action. Therefore, we commit ourselves to a discipline of regular worship and planned giving. This commitment includes returning a definite portion of our time, talents, and treasures to accomplish God's will.
We urge every member of this congregation to accept this challenge and adopt this standard.
